MANAGING DIRECTOR

Throughout his career Timothy has shepherded several companies through impressive and complex growth trajectories, including single businesses, groups expanding nationally and brands scaling globally.

The bulk of Timothy’s executive career has been within the SMB space (£5-£20m revenue) but he has also succeeded in the corporate world, where he was appointed as Vice President of Operations, owning a USD$200m P&L, which was being generated from 500 outlets, in 100 locations across 25 countries.

Timothy has led major projects in many global markets, including EMEA, North America, APAC, and Central & South America. He has spent significant time in London, but has also lived in Melbourne, Paris, Krakow, Perth and Cannes.

He is a lifelong fitness enthusiast, most recently to offset the damage from his devotion to cooking and baking. When not working, you’ll find him reading in an espresso bar, eating in a restaurant, or in his newest favourite habitat, a cigar lounge.

At Compound, Timothy leads all investment activities, and guides strategy and operations of portfolio and client companies.

CHAIRMAN

Robert has over 45 years experience in acquiring, optimising, operating and exiting businesses. Robert founded and led the Axis Management Group (AMG) portfolio of companies. This portfolio provided a broad range of commercial and industrial services to an impressive roster of blue chip clients.

Robert exited AMG via a sale in 2005 to prominent publicly listed competitors and clients. Upon selling, Robert was retained as a consultant to guide M&A transactions to support the acquirer’s F&B and FM growth strategies, resulting in £100m+ of transactions.

Robert has been an avid traveller since the early 1970’s where he traversed the globe in a renovated ambulance. He is a passionate yet inconsistent golfer, a very consistent red wine enthusiast and now resides in Australia.

For Compound, Robert advises on due diligence, commercial strategy and capital allocation.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Originally hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, Dev has been a lifelong entrepreneur and has an impressive track record of identifying and capitalising on trends early. Dev has a strong SMB background, where notably he acquired a business in the luxury wellness sector, increased its revenues by a factor of ten, then successfully exited via sale to a trade buyer in 2015. Since then he has led major strategic marketing projects for a broad range of clients as a consultant advisor.

Dev and his delightful Swedish partner Zofie have recently welcomed their absolutely ADORABLE daughter Alicia to the world. We all here at Compound Ventures sincerely thank Alicia for making this no-nonsense antipodean melt a little.

Dev is a voracious reader, whiskey aficionado and keen entrepreneur. A fun fact about Dev is that he was one of the earliest adopters of digital marketing and YouTube content production. Ask to see his marketing videos from 2006 ;)

Dev oversees the day-to-day operations and Business Development functions at Compound. Leading our internal team, advisors and our potential partners throughout the transaction lifecycle, Dev is a process wizard.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Charlotte is the oil that keeps the Compound engine running smoothly. She ensures that Timothy, Dev and the team are thoroughly organised and distraction free. In reality she is actually the MD of the MD! Nothing happens around here without Charlotte’s say so.

Charlotte LOVES funky hair dye and her daily pastries (ahem, doughnuts from Bread Ahead), LOVES LOVES scouting London’s pizza restaurants (current fave, Cinque Cento) and travelling (next stop, Madrid!), and LOVES LOVES LOVES kittens! She’s a proud future cat lady.
